The ZR1 LT7 Math
Credit::Jason Fenske – Engineering Explained
In 2025, the Corvette world buzzed with debates over two incredible engines for the Z06 and ZR1. Both were built for speed but with distinct personalities. The Z06’s naturally aspirated 5.5L flat-plane crank V8, known as the LT6, delivered 670 horsepower and screamed to an 8,600 RPM redline. It was all about precision and control, perfect for purists who loved a high-revving machine.
Then came the ZR1, packing the twin-turbocharged LT7 engine. With over 1,064 horsepower, it turned the Z06’s finesse into pure, unrelenting force. The ZR1 was built for raw power, designed to pin you to your seat under incredible acceleration.

Scott V.’s 2008
I purchased this 2008 Indy 500 Pace Car through Troy at Corvette Mike in October 2023. The car has never been titled and is still under the manufacturer’s “Certificate of Origin”. When I purchased the car, it had 133 miles on it. With light occasional “exercising”, the car now shows a whopping 134 miles. This is basically a new car, with the plastic coverings from the factory still in place on the seats and retains the new car smell. The original owner had the owner’s manual signed by Scott Dixon, winner of the 2008 Indy 500. I had this manual framed with a plaque to preserve the significance of this piece. I also contacted the GM Heritage Center and they sent a letter stating this vehicle with the VIN number provided is an official 2008 Indy 500 Pace Car, and is number 247/500. This letter is framed along with a pamphlet from Corvette Quarterly featuring the 08 Pace Car.

Why is it that when we talk to dogs, we raise our voice like we’re auditioning for a Disney movie, but when they don’t respond, we act like they speak perfect English?
